West Bridgford Baptist Church has a strong World Mission interest which focuses on the following areas:
BMS World Mission
This is our major focus as a Church. The major part of our mission giving is divided between BMS and Baptist Home Mission.
We support an overseas link worker called Joan Woodyer, a nurse who serves in Angola where she is involved in the development of health education and the development of training. Joan sends regular news by email and from time to time the church receives copies of her prayer letter with details of events and concerns and requests for prayer. All news from Joan is distributed to whoever wishes to receive it. Information is continually displayed on the World Mission notice board. In November 2006 Joan visited the church while on home assignment and inspired us with news of the work she is doing and the Baptist fellowship in Angola.
In addition to this we participate in the BMS Link Up scheme and in the last two years we have used BMS material for our harvest themes.
More information about Baptist World Mission is available on their website at www.bmsworldmission.org

Special Focus for 2007
As part of the Bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade the church is encouraging people to be active in finding out more about the slave trade and modern forms of slavery. See www.setallfree.net for more information.

Other Mission Interests
- Fair Trade is of major concern and the church has a Traidcraft Stall.
- Many members have an interest in a mission organisation or individual serving overseas. This interest is encouraged and information shared from time to time.
