Thera Trust started providing support for people with a learning disability in 1998 with the aim of involving people, both in the design and delivery of their own support and in the direction and management of the organisation. Thera's philosophy and approach to supporting people has been highly successful. Thera now operates a group of companies, Thera East Midlands, Thera East Anglia, Thera North and Thera West, ensuring locally focused support. Individuals are supported in their own homes, in their own community, at work and for short breaks. Each company employs a Service Director, an executive post on the Board of Directors, a role specifically undertaken by someone with a learning disability. Thera Trust is also a Registered Charity.
