About The Rev Dr Chris Ellis

Chris became Pastor of West Bridgford Baptist Church in September 2006. Prior to this, he was Principal of Bristol Baptist Bible College which prepares people for Christian Ministry, particularly as pastors and youth workers. Previously he pastored in Brighton, Cardiff, Swindon and Sheffield, and has a wealth of experience and a lot of enthusiasm. He is married to Marilyn who is a Health Manager and a musician, and they have four children and seven grandchildren.

Chris is particularly interested in worship and has written a book on this and published hymns and prayers, as well as daily bible reading notes. He also tries to think through some of the tough questions about God and the world we live in. He says "My vision of the Church is a local community of the disciples of Jesus who gather regularly for worship and who support one another in their daily living and witness. Their love for God should be infectious, encouraging others to discover the life-changing grace of God for themselves."
